Complete guide to registration with the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for international students at NIST University.

FRRO Registration Process

All international students with a valid Indian visa for more than 180 days must complete the FRRO registration process as per Indian immigration law.

Note: This process is not applicable for Nepalese and Bhutanese students.

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Visit Office of Dean Admissions at NIST University (First Floor, TIFAC building)
  2. Complete all required documentation with guidance from university staff
  3. Submit your application to the local Foreigner Registration Office (FRO)

Important Deadlines

Students must complete the registration process within 14 days of arrival in India (deadlines may vary slightly for different countries). Late registration may result in penalties.

Required Documents

  • Valid passport with student visa
  • Proof of university admission
  • Passport-sized photographs
  • Proof of residential address in India
  • Any other documents specified by the FRRO
