Department of Management Studies

The Department of Management Studies at NIST was established in 2006 with an initial intake of 60 students in its flagship two-year full-time MBA program, which was originally affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela. Since its inception, the department has been committed to delivering quality management education, blending academic rigor with industry relevance.
Over the years, the department has grown significantly. What began with a team of 5 faculty members has expanded to a robust academic unit of 20 faculty members, mostly Ph.D. holders.
With the transition of NIST to a University status, the MBA program is now offered independently under the aegis of NIST University, marking a new chapter of academic autonomy, innovation, and excellence in management education.
