Satish Dhawan Space Centre, ISRO organized 4-day (1st to 4th October) program on Vikram Sarabhai Birth Centenary at National Institute Science & Technology. Chief Guest Dr. Kota Harinarayana (Programme Director and Chief Designer of India's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad and President of The Aeronautical Society of India) addressed the gathering in the valediction function in the presence of guests of honor Prof. Amarendra Narayan Misra (Vice-Chancellor, Khallikot University), Dr. V Kumbhakarnan (Chairman, VSCP Organizing Committee), and Prof. Ajit Kumar Panda (Principal, NIST), Dr. A K Ghosh (Chairman, Berhampur Organizing Committee) and Shri Ashok Maher (Member, VSCC, Berhampur Organizing Committee).
Vikram Sarabhai Birth Centenary was organized at Institute Park, NIST during 1st to 4th October 2019. The program was meant to recall the life, times and contributions of Vikram A Sarabhai, the father of Indian Space Research, generate awareness of Indian Space Research among the students, enrich them with knowledge of space technology, and instill scientific temperament in them. During this 4-day program, over 450 students saw ISRO Space exhibition, and participated in essay writing, quiz, and painting & drawing competitions about space technology.
