About

The top 15 finalist teams will be invited for national level event during first week of October, 2023. The summit will consist of a final assessment of their project/ innovation, interactions with renowned scientist, technocrats and thought leaders of the country (who will be in the jury). Finalists will present their innovations to the panel of judges, the scientific and research community from diverse domains and public. They will get chance to interact with one another, exchange ideas and insights.

SENIOR GROUP: Winner, runners up and 2nd runners up will be awarded with cash prize of ₹1,00,000,₹50,000,₹25,000 respectively.
JUNIOR GROUP: Winner, runners up and 2nd runners up will be awarded with cash prize of ₹30,000 ,₹20,000,₹10,000 respectively.

Eligibility Criteria

Senior group: 11th and 12th grade (or equivalent)
Junior group: 6th to 10th grade.
School Registration: to be done on the portal with the Principal nominating a faculty as the single point of contact (SPOC). The SPOC will handle all student inquiries & assist at school level.
Group size: The number of participants per group is 2 - 3 student’s belonging to the same school.
Mentor faculty: Each group selected for the finale shall get a mentor faculty from their institute.

Domains

ENVIRONMENT

Showcase ideas that can help in sustainable management of environmental resources, preserve bio diversity, help fight climate change effects, bring in inclusive growth of mankind and ecological resources.

SMART CITY

Cities and villages have unique scope of improvement. Develop and suggest solutions for efficient housing, sanitation, power supply, transportation, lighting, communication, economic improvement, vending, distribution network etc.

AGRICULTURE

Identify issues related to agriculture, propose solutions for better yield, value addition, storage, transportation, price prediction etc. Device new equipment to help in agriculture.

EDUCATION

Share innovative ideas on bringing in creativity, enhancing the learning outcomes and bridge educational gaps in schools and colleges. Propose solutions for teaching aids and methods, educational content delivery, education management etc.

SPACE TECHNOLOGY

Propose your ideas in rocketry, satellites, deep space exploration; use of space technology in agriculture, healthcare, forestry, fishery, mineral exploration etc.

HEALTHCARE

Propose innovative solutions for health condition profiling, medicine transportation, storage and distribution, dosage tracking, biomedical devices, portable and affordable testing equipment, digital record keeping, patient monitoring etc.

ROBOTICS

Present innovative ideas on new robot designs, robot communication, intelligent coordination etc. Suggest solutions using robots to address pertinent issues in hazardous environment, challenging terrains, urban and domestic uses etc.

DEFENCE

Indian military uses technology for internal security, cross border activities and mitigation of emergency situations and natural disasters. Propose innovative ideas on weapons, artillery, armour, warfare, communication, stealth and whatever is not yet invented.

Timeline and Schedule

May 15, 2023: Call for participation in NIST Science Talent Search (NSTS)
September 7, 2023: Application Window Close
September 7, 2023: Evaluation of projects (in-person and/or virtual mode)
September 10, 2023: Announcement of finalist for in-person Presentation
September 10, 2023: Beginning of Project Fabrication
October 18 & 19, 2023: Presentation of the project by finalist
October 18 & 19, 2023:Announcement and facilitation of winners of NSTS program
